Obama and History

Let's go back to various times in religious history and draw comparisons to the Obama Administration. Take first the children of Israel wandering in the wilderness. No matter how bad things got, they always had the surety of Canaan. What if all Moses gave them to hope for was, “It could be worse!”
We have insight that Moses saw the Promised Land; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. likewise; John the Revelator saw a new heaven and a new earth; Elisha saw the army of angels ready to fight; Daniel saw the rise and fall of empires ending with God in charge. . What do we have today under Obama? A lot of economic wilderness with manna and scorpions. Obama wants us to settle for this “new reality” that jobs aren’t coming back and we need to lower our living standards. He needs to create a realistic hope for the future-this is totally lacking in America today.
All we have gotten are artificial prop ups like home buyers credits, and Cash for Clunkers that only goose the economy and leave us owing more. Why doesn’t Congress cut spending to offset reduced income? We need real help like tax cuts that leave more money in the hands of those who actually create jobs and opportunity- the entrepreneurial American. Give a reason to invest with confidence; give us hope to help see over the economic mountain top so we can again see America in her full glory. Yet polls show Americans have lost faith in Obama’s ability to lead and they find his speeches lacking inspiration. Blaming, excusing, and ranting are not leadership.
We are not a nation intended to rest on its hands to await the next Obama edict; we need leadership that gives us direction and then gets out of our way. Like with Katrina, expecting the federal government to be a first responder to every crisis is to give up on the American dream. We need to be like Mississippi and Alabama who met Katrina head on with a plan and have come a long way since then. Louisiana today is an example of relying on the government to do it. This fall we have a choice of whether we want government to do it for us or if we demand the opportunity to do it ourselves; I will always choose the latter.

Time To Start Again

Democrats are playing the 2010 version of the Alzheimer’s patient with short-term memory loss. They play the game they always play at election time: suddenly they listen to the voter and are so concerned with what they think- where were they when the debacle of health care was being weaseled through?

The candidates of today are running from Pelosi, keeping Obama away from their district, and distancing themselves from the stimulus package and the health care vote. What happened? They were in lock step to Congress marching in a most arrogant way to show the American voter just how stupid that voter is-who cares what they think-this is for them! Now, the Astroturf movement has taken root and there is a very real danger of overtaking what Democrats have worked so hard to build. Now, like the Tower of Babel, their work is abandoned and hopefully never to be picked up again.

We don’t just need a Pelosi face lift in America today, we need a total make over that changes the status quo from head to toe. We need two more years of Democrats like Nancy and Harry need a Halloween mask. There is no need to hide behind the hideousness of their actions; these last two reprehensible years speak for themselves and we will be paying for their idiocy for many years to come.

Now with the likelihood that at least two new Republicans will be seated prior to Jan. 20th due to the deaths and resignations of Senators, the likelihood of a December cram down seems a little more remote. There will be little stomach with which to try and pass legislation that is atrocious-such as Cap and Trade- because the people may well revolt.

After control is regained in the Congress, action must be done immediately to help reverse the last two years and if Obama won’t play ball then in 2012 we take it off at the head and replace Barack with a real American bent on following and upholding the Constitution.

I have never lost faith that the time for doing what is right will eventually come. There is never a wrong time to do what is right. With the change in Congress there will at last be hope for real change and the kind we can really believe in. There is just no substitute that will do for good legislation bent on getting America back on track. It is time for Republicans to start acting like Republicans again.

They Just Don't Get It

Man, these people just don’t get it. Professional politicians come out every election year and sound like the used car salesmen who hope that we don’t too closely under the hood. They really think it is all about them. They really think they’re spending their money and when they don’t have enough, they want a raise in their allowance. They try to protect their district, their state, their party and in turn forget to protect their country. We have created 435 little kings and unless they’re going for reelection, they treat us like serfs and want us to eat cake.

This election year has taken on shades it should never have. This has been called an anti-Obama referendum, it’s been called a contest of Democrat v. Republican, and it has been dubbed as an anti-incumbent year-it is really none of the above. What this election is all about is the defining of our core beliefs and a reaffirmation of what the United States of America is all about. Republicans thought they knew everything in 1994 as Democrats did likewise in 2006. Yet as one party comes to power and the other temporarily fades, it never dawns on them that they serve America and not the other way around.

Republicans seems on the verge of retaking control of Congress but this is far from the end game. Will they, like Obama, refuse to take the reins of responsibility that come with the authority of taking office by blaming those they replace? Which CEO would keep his job long with the two slogans, “It’s my predecessor’s fault” and “It could have been worse”? It borders on the absurd to accept credit for the good and blame others for the bad. There is a true sense of awe that comes with the office of the Presidency and that recognition is costing Obama today.

I have long adhered to the conservative creed of beliefs and this transcends party line when it is appropriate. Conservatism is coming back into vogue but like a great fitting pair of jeans, it never really goes out of style. We stray from these beliefs as we are seduced by the siren song of “Let Uncle Sam take care of you” but reality jolts back to what is really in our hearts.

Let Democrats stand on what they have stood for since 2006 and if they lose they should learn from it. No election, no leader, and no slogans ever change how I really feel. Unlike politicians, I love this country too much to short change it.

The Chickens are Coming Home To Roost

Well, now that summer is over and the elections are heating up, it is good to see just where people stand. Take Michelle Obama for instance. She’s not running but it is becoming clear that she’d like to run back home to Chicago. Being first lady is not all the fun she thought it would be after all. Why, heaven forbid, it is actually a job! Like most people she hates her job and thinks it’s a living hell for her to endure everyday. Well, at least now she knows what Barack has been going through having his mother-in-law in the White House for most of his term. Of course, things for Michelle, like everything else for the Obamas has not gone the way they thought they would. The world was supposed to bow before them and just be in awe of all that they do- instead she is left with egg on her face when the French First Lady tells all in her memoirs about how Michelle just hates her job. Even if it is not true, doesn’t it say a lot when people have no problem believing this to be true?

So either the First Lady of France is lying or Michelle is in hell right now. This reminds me of the flap over Obama denying he knew what Rev. Wright was preaching for over 20 years. In that case either Obama slept through every sermon or he’s lying. In this case, Michelle has every reason to think this given her feelings for America. I think they are both bad liars when the truth is exposed.

Let us move on to Delaware where Christine O’Donnell defeated Congressman Castle in the Republican primary. She won fair and square but after a Castle tantrum, it is all the more relief that she beat him. The establishment was behind him and actually refused to help Ms. O’Donnell even after she won. Of course, like with Mrs. Obama, they did an about face and are now singing a different tune about how they will help her. This is why it is so important to support conservatism at all costs and not just vote for someone because of their party affiliation. The true colors are coming out and it is to their embarrassment that they are.

What say we of Nancy Pelosi? She really has to take the cake for acting like she is inebriated even when she doesn’t have anything to drink. The BUSH tax cuts are now the OBAMA tax cuts; a sentiment that flies in the face of reality. But then this is the same crazy lady who said now that health care passed there would be no need for the unemployed or the guitar playing street bum to worry as they would get the best care in the world. Does anyone still believe this?

Not to be outdone, Global Warming is now “Global Climate Disruption” just like a terrorist attack is a “man-made disaster”.  You just can’t make up this stuff in the world of politics that would beat the real thing. Here Chickee, Chickee, Chikee!

Running the Numbers

Let’s Run the Numbers:
Obama has racked up more debt than all other presidents combined.

More people are in poverty now than when Obama took office.  Hmmm. Good liberal policies at work.

Still over $200 billion of the stimulus is not spent.

Dems has overwhelming majorities to run the table on their agenda and came away looking weak.

Obama has still not created, nor will he ever create positive job one against all the job losses.

Unemployment was supposed to stay below 8% with the stimulus-how’s that working out?

Does anyone really think Obama knows how to spend even $1 wisely? Let alone $50 Billion more.

Obama, no matter what issue he chooses, is in the clear minority when it comes to what Americans support. He does not poll well even by liberal standards.

House losses for Dems run anywhere from 40 to 100 seats. The Senate could be 8 to 11-who would have thought this a year ago?

It has only been nine years since 9-11 and watching the History Channel run shows on it, I am amazed as to how much Americans have forgotten what really happened.

20 States have joined in against the Obama nightmare of a health care plan. Nearly half of the United States is taking a legal stand against this guy.

In a generic poll ballot, Republicans run 12% above Dems. This is the greatest margin of difference since anyone kept track.
We are waiting for Nov. 2 so we can tell Nancy Pelosi what she can do with that giant gavel she foolishly pranced around with the day health care in America died.

Even California is trouble for Dems as they must pour money into campaigns no one thought would be contested like Boxer’s seat and the Governor ship. Boxer trails and Jerry Brown also lags behind in the polls.

To make things worse, the Republican candidate for Senate has pulled ahead by 3% over her Democratic challenger who no one thought could lose.

To make things worse still, Republican Mrs. McMahon of WWE fame has pulled within 10% of Blumenthal in Connecticut after being down by over 30 points. Many are starting to believe she will catch him and win.

Boy looking at this, Dems better plan to do addition by subtraction!

On Political Hypocrisy

Isn't it ironic that the very people who blasted Glenn Beck for holding his 8/28 rally on the anniversary as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream Speech," and for even holding it in the same place, are the same people who support the audacious plan to put a mosque at Ground Zero? These are also the same people who denounce the Koran potentially being burned this weekend. ALL of these things are constitutionally okay but that does not necessarily make them right. They must be seen on their own merits beyond what is constitutional. This important point makes the argument that the mosque is a constitutional question of no merit. It just goes back to the truth that just because you can do something doesn't make it right.

It just goes to show the hypocrisy of those who would want freedom of expression for all-well so long as you agree with what they want to express. So many times I have been told myself that my editorials I have published could put me in harm’s way. I’ve been told I need psychiatric help and that I am so full of hate that I will explode. They say that I am brave for saying what I do but I know that I am in the majority of what America believes. It is always the 10% who are so extreme that seem to garner the right to speak for everyone. I have been told that they hope I don’t end up face down in a ditch, that I don’t get shot, that nothing happens to my car or my house, etc. These are all from people who like what I write and wish me well. What are the so-called liberal thinkers actually thinking?

I remember when the billboard came out saying that George Bush was an abortion gone wrong; that he was an argument for abortion; that someone should perform oral sex on him so that we could impeach him- all loony statements made by the left. When VP Cheney was in Afghanistan and there was a plane crash, the left spouted off that “If only it could have been Cheney onboard that fallen plane. Where are the repercussions for all of this? None by no one because these are hideous things to say about anyone. As much as I despise the policies and conduct of Pres. Clinton, Pres. Carter and Pres. Obama, I wish them no harm to them or to their families. Anyone who seriously does is mentally ill.

You are what you eat and you are what you think and say. There is just too little thought given to these wise adages in today’s world. Instead we just get things said and printed that will garner short term gain and deduct from the originator’s self-respect and standing in the world. We could all use a little more restraint and a whole lot more respect for our fellow man.

Another $50 Billion?

So just to be sure I understand, Pres. Obama is requesting over $50 billion more dollars to help get the economy going? How many times have we heard from this President that the economy and jobs is JOB ONE only to be put back once again on the back burner to push cap and trade, health care, etc. This card has been played one too many times and it is becoming almost impossible to take this man seriously.

Why another multi-billion request when over $200 billion of the original "stimulus" has not even been spent? If the stimulus was supposed to save the economy, why spend more? ALL tax dollars spent by Congress comes from earned income. To take more out of an already ailing economy defies logic. By admitting he needs to do more, Obama is undercutting the success of his stimulus boondoggle. Someone needs to tell this man that the purse strings are closed. Why not just get out of the way and let the economy grow as it always has-by providing an environment condusive to hiring, investment, and expansion. Someone needs to tell him and I think November 2nd is time for me to do just that.

I believe that the time is coming in America under Obama where he will just dispense with the formality of wealth creation and he will just do directly to the tax. Forget the working, the deductions, etc.-- let’s just get what the government wants first and leave the pittance to the common folk. Of course this will be for our own good. Fortunately, the time for him to accomplish this is short. In a world in which Obama ruled for the last 20 months, he should’ve been able to ram through all he wanted to legislatively pass. Also fortunate is that Dems know how to turn victory into a temporary two year success.

Whatever inroads the Republicans make this fall, it should be enough to stop the Obama train wreck. The time to be a bystander is over, we must take back the wheel. I firmly believe that even if conservatives don’t take back both or either house of Congress, that it will be enough to stop Obama. Yet it is not enough to just watch the Dems self destruct, conservatives must give the public a reason to know that their vote was not once again misplaced in the hands of a bunch of self-serving power hungry politicians.

What we need now is not another government program as we have seen that once they are taken away, that sector of the economy goes back into the doldrums. Artificial means of respiration does not mean there is a good quality of life. We must and we will get back to what made America great and as Winston Churchill once said, “This will be our finest hour.”

The Good Old Days

The Rehabilitation of George Bush
Did you ever hear anyone talk about the “old days” with fond memories? Some of these memories may be clouded, but what shines through is that they were neither easy nor comfortable. What goodness came out of it is the realization that family counts, you need to see the long-term good, and you need to look beyond yourself.
What is going on today is nothing short of remarkable. There is a movement afoot concerning President Bush and the beauty of if all is that he is doing nothing to push an agenda about his presidency; no “Summer of Bush memories” or “Summer of remember the Iraq Surge”. It is happening on its own as Pres. Bush is being vindicated by time. I always knew this would happen- just not this quickly. For example….
There’s a push to renew the Bush tax cuts in one form or another. Thought this was only for the rich. You mark my words, if the fall elections go our way, the economy will come back as there is at last a realistic hope for all.
Iran is really the bad guy we knew them to be. Ditto for North Korea. We took out Iraq or the Axis of Evil would still be intact. No idiotic placation or willingness to talk to them as advocated by Obama has done ANY good.
The surge in Iraq was a good thing. The execution of the war eerily follows the pattern of the American Civil War- just compare it. Now even 58% of Americans agree that the Iraq War was worth it. Funny how time is Bush’s friend.
The philosopher George Bush most admired is coming back in vogue again. Yes, the one and only Jesus Christ is making a comeback (not that He was ever gone) in American life and humanistic views of man’s abilities are looking mighty silly these days.
We are once again remembering what 9-11 was all about. This building of the Mosque at Ground Zero is actually turning out to be a healthy discussion as to what the big picture is all about. We are finding out and I am sure will find out that this attempt to slap our face is actually something more sinister as the more come out. When over ¾’s of America is against it, that is something. I still see Pres. Bush with his bull horn on the back of that truck challenging those who cowardly attack to come meet their justice.
There is a call to fitness today and not the shallow one purported by Obama but one that was constantly advocated by Pres. Bush by word and example. We didn’t need Laura to spoon feed us ala Michelle, we had a President who overcame his addiction to alcohol, stayed fit and didn’t make a big deal about it. Compare this to Smokin’ Joe Barack Obama who is too stuck on himself to change.
Time is the friend of President Bush and is showing Obama to be the charlatan we knew he was and is. Please work to get the vote out this year. Remember the good old days.

Bet Against the House

It has often been said that you should never bet against the house because you will never win. Things have changed this year and I am shouting it from the rooftops, “Bet against the house!” Life is not well in Liberalville these days and indeed are getting worse by the day. The big gavel Nancy Pelosi walked around with is now threatening to come down directly on her. What was thought to be a generational movement is soon going to be nothing more than a movement of another kind that happens when one eats something very unpleasant.

Things that the house has done has indeed done nothing to give hope for this fall. Everything they have stood for is going down in the flames of populist unrest and there is indeed every indication that the house is on fire. Poll after poll is showing a bad situation worsening by the day and if the 8/28 Glenn Beck rally is any indication, there will such a political upheaval this fall as has never been seen before.

What is happening is not a result of unrest with the past, but unrest with what will happen in the future if the Democratic dunderheads are left in power for two more years. Things once thought unthinkable have been passed or are contemplated for passage in the house. The sure foundation of liberalism has been built on a foundation of sinking sand. They are literally sinking under the weight of the gross deeds that they have performed. It has been said that the mark of a great man or movement is not what he does, but the result of what he has done. This does the Democrats no favors when their trail of disastrous legislation is laid bare for all to see. As some details of the health care law come to light, America recoils in horror and Democrats recoil in shame.

When Pres. Reagan and Pres. Bush got off to a rough start in their administrations, they regained their footing and moved America forward. Obama shows all the makings of not having the perceptiveness to do this. Instead he continues to bumble and stumble from one issue to the other wanting at times to use his teleprompters as shields as they contain no magic words that do anything of significance or of net positive effect. You can literally take any issue and see where his shortcomings are for all to see.

So whatever you have, bet against the house, because this house of cards is going down. It only remains to be seen how far down it is going to go. This dilemma is now spreading to the Senate where it appears that even this house is in jeopardy. All around the landscape looks bleak for liberals, and who would have guessed this would happen only a year and a half ago? When I was asked about the impending Obama presidency just before he took office, I said that time would be his greatest enemy and his own actions and words would serve to be unkind to him. Looks like I have been proven to be 100% right. Conservatism is like fine wine; it only gets better with age.
